We love FLASH! We love using it and we really appreciate the way Macromedia, and now Adobe, have developed the program over the years. We still feel it is greatly underused considering the amazing things it can do. Not only does it produce animations, for example, like what you see in banner ads, but it can actually be used to build whole applications, online games, sophisticated presentations and a slew of other multimedia projects. We also love using Flash's scripting language every chance we get.
Below are three projects we did, each using Flash in a different way.
Wildfire
Productions- is a production company based in Austin.
Wildfire did the design for the web site themselves. Flash was used
to present samples of their fine video production talents, pulling
the video samples in off the server on an as-needed basis
to keep the Flash file size down to a minimum enabling quick downloads.
Cross
Culture Communications- This is a Flash companion site
for their static web site. Colorful and interesting, it makes use of a lot of animation.
Medical
Institute of Sexual Health- This project was part of a
CD rom on sexual health. It is shown here as a web page.
